El Jefe is an 85 year-old Cuernero (horn-maker) and has been handcrafting horn and skull art for over 50 years. He is a proud father of 8 and grandfather of 15. El Jefe recently underwent a leg amputation, but still finds the energy to craft horns every day. He believes working on his craft keeps him alive. He loves hearing about reviews from customers and receiving orders from new countries. El Jefe resides in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
"Jefe" in Spanish means chief or boss. The Spanglish name pays homage to our abuelo and our Tex-Mex roots in Laredo, TX and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
Small 9" - 14" - 1 ft.
Medium 15" - 20" - 1.5 ft.
Large 21" - 26" - 2 ft.
XL 27" - 32" - 2.5 ft.
XXL 33" - 38" - 3 ft.
We do offer sizes above XXL, up to 8 ft. However we currently only offer local pickup from Laredo, TX. Reach out with any inquiries.
Unless you are buying a SPECIAL series, the horns pictured are already sold.
Upon purchase or request, we reach out to customers with pictures of our available inventory where you can select your preference.
Care Instructions
These horns should be able to last you a lifetime indoors, but yes many clients mount them outdoors especially on vehicles. For outdoor use, it is strongly recommended to waterproof the leather/fur. Keep in mind the horns are hollow, fragile, and susceptible to weather conditions and wear and tear. The fur may collect dust over time and may need some mild cleaning.

Yes we offer custom and bulk orders. If you would like a certain color or style that we don't have in our available inventory, you can put in a request for a custom order. Additionally some customers request horns with no wooden mounting block on the back so they can mount directly to their vehicles. We offer discounted pricing on orders over 5. We would love to supply your store or business with beautiful eye-catching art decor. Contact us for further information.
Please keep in mind that custom orders are an upgraded price depending on size and require a waiting period of up to 4 - 8 weeks.
Yes. If for whatever reason you don't like the horns or would prefer another pair, we have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, and well packaged.
The buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping and reshipping of the new horn.
If for whatever reason your horns arrive broken or damaged, with proof we will happily refund your entire order cost. Please do not throw anything away and provide 7 photos including pictures of the box, BMC Code, packaging materials, horns inside the box, and horns outside the box.
To start a return, you can contact us at jefeshorns@gmail.com. Once we have approved the return, simply ship the horns back and once arrived we will process a full refund.
